This year’s Street Parade will incorporate the major art project ‘Call to the Sea’.
Puppeteer Jenny Ellis is working with 18 schools across the Shire to produce large-scale puppets based on the theme of Eels during the Upwelling season.

11.00am : Call to the Sea
Following the Street Parade, School Groups will assemble along the foreshore of Henty Beach. Conducted by Dr Adam Hardcastle, the Festival’s Arts Co-ordinator, each group will make their “Call to the Sea”
Dr Hardcastle invites Parents, Teachers and Members of the Public to assemble behind the students and take part in the final Grand Call to the Sea: a thousand voices.

Hang out at the Youth Drop Zone – Local Dj’s, games, the smoothie bike and more. Free activities brought to you by the Glenelg Shire Youth Services Team and the FreeZa Crew.

Mandy’s talk will focus on How to Identify Different Whale Species and Individual Whales.
Mike Risk – Visitor Information Officer with the Glenelg Shire Council.
Mike will explain how the Upwelling functions and its impact.
Peter Hill – Ranger with Parks Victoria based in Portland
Peter’s talk will present the Wildlife of Discovery Bay Marine Park – photographed by Peter on a survey dive in the park
