Come along to see an amazing array of local floats from Community groups and schools to much much more!

This year’s Street Parade will incorporate the major art project ‘Call to the Sea’.

Puppeteer Jenny Ellis is working with 18 schools across the Shire to produce large-scale puppets based on the theme of Eels during the Upwelling season.

Road closures will be in place from 8.30am to Noon along Bentinck Street from Tyers Street to Gawler Street

11.00am : Call to the Sea

Following the Street Parade, School Groups will assemble along the foreshore of Henty Beach.  Conducted by Dr Adam Hardcastle, the Festival’s Arts Co-ordinator, each group will make their “Call to the Sea”

Dr Hardcastle invites Parents, Teachers and Members of the Public to assemble behind the students and take part in the final Grand Call to the Sea: a thousand voices.

Location: Henty Beach

10.30am – 3.30pm : Glenelg Shire Council Youth Arts Zone

Hang out at the Youth Drop Zone – Local Dj’s, games, the smoothie bike and more.  Free activities brought to you by the Glenelg Shire Youth Services Team and the FreeZa Crew.

11.15am – 4.30pm : Live Entertainment on 2 Stages

We have a great line up of entertainers performing on the main stage located on the beautiful foreshore lawns and  stage 2 at Henty Beach

In the evening the entertainment continues at Mac’s Hotel.

Miniature Yachts skippered by experienced sailors from the PYC racing around a small course.

3.00pm – 4.30pm : Marine Environment Talks

Mandy Watson – Senior Project Officer Wildlife Emergencies at Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning, based in Warrnambool.

Mandy’s talk will focus on How to Identify Different Whale Species and Individual Whales.

Mike Risk – Visitor Information Officer with the Glenelg Shire Council.

Mike will explain how the Upwelling functions and its impact.

Peter Hill – Ranger with Parks Victoria based in Portland

Peter’s talk will present the Wildlife of Discovery Bay Marine Park – photographed by Peter on a survey dive in the park
